iForIndia is a citizen engagement initiative to actively involve Indians in the democratic process and to give voice to the electorate on very specific issues that affect the lives of Indians. It is a platform where citizens can rate the quality of services provided to them by the government. User ratings generate a report card of MLAs, MPs & CMs, which are placed in the public domain. The website is available in 9 languages, has an easy to use interface and provides citizens a confidential way to rate services using a password protected account. A strong focus on security includes mobile number authentication and fraud check algorithms to ensure the identity of individuals rating their elected officials cannot be compromised and that the system remains defensible against fake users and multiple account holders. Work is currently under way to develop a smartphone app for the rating system as well as to build offline models such as SMS based rating, IVR option & village level kiosks
